We are pleased to announce our NEW 2011 leather bib collection! Mally Bibs are, and always will be, the original leather baby bib, the only bib baby will need that is guaranteed not to stain. We will also always be the leather bib company that listens to customer design requests as well! Every time someone suggests a new design idea, we jot it down in our ideas book and start sketching. We work very carefully to follow color and design trends, while experimenting with our own trends and ideas as well. Each year we feel our design collection gets better and better, and this year is certainly no exception! From our new Peeking Panda to our new T-rex, the gorgeous Fleur de lis in Fuchsia and Blue, the adorable new Peeking Cat and Earth Day inspired Tree, Happy Hippo, and our re-freshed wasabi green Sushi, and so much more, we are very proud of our latest collection and we hope you enjoy it! Did you happen to notice our models are extra styled, looking oh so comfortable and cute this year? That's because we teamed up with some great businesses for our photo shoot! We would like to shout out a very special thanks to Peekakboo Beans for outfitting our models in the most adorable and comfortable kids clothing, Little Soles for ensuring our models were happy even down to their little toes in the uber-stylish urban shoes, Baby Wisp who accessorized our sweet little girls with adorable hair jewelry to coordinate with their bibs and outfits, Baby Mum-Mum who supplied our models with delicious snacks in both baby and toddler mum-mums. I would have to say with the combinaton of these amazing companies, along with our fab photogrpahers at Bopomo, this photo shoot has gone down in history as our most successful yet! 

Have you ever thought how cool it would be to have your baby be a model in a catalogue, website or even in the pages of magazines? Well, this may be your chance! We are currently running our annual model search and we are looking for a variety of babies ages 6-30 months for a photo shoot to be held at Bopomo Photo Studio in South Surrey. If this is of interest to you and you have a child in this age group, and if you are available to meet at the location towards the end of June, then by all means, enter our model search! All you have to do is enter a recent photo of your baby wearing a Mally Bib to contests@mallybibs.com or to our Facebook Fanpage by June 10th, 2010 and we will consider your child! What we are looking for:

- a variety of looks, ages 6 months – 30 months

Who would be suitable as a model:

- any happy baby who is not shy in front of a camera or strangers
- a baby who is used to / comfortable wearing Mally Bibs
- someone who is available to go to the Bopomo photo studio in Morgan Crossing (South Surrey) towards the end of June, 2010

How to enter our model search:

1. submit a recent photo of your little one wearing a Mally Bib to our facebook fanpage fan photos or to contests@mallybibs.com

2. in the fan photo comments or in the email, please tell us the name of your child, their age, and explain why you think he or she would make a great Mally Bibs model

3. confirm which dates towards the end of June in which you are available

If your child is chosen:

- you will receive a personalized Mally Bib for your child to wear in the photo shoot, and to keep as a keepsake
- you will receive a discount code for use on mallybibs.com, valid for 1 full year
- your child will be provided with an outfit that coordinates with their bib designs, in which they can keep afterwards
- your child will appear on our website and possibly in other print marketing material including post cards, catalogues, posters and tradeshow banners, some of which we can provide you with
- photos of your child may be included in our media campaigns, and therefore may end up in national or international online or print magazines.
- you will need to sign a contract allowing us to use the photos of your child for our marketing purposes

At Mally Designs, we believe in recycle, re-use and reduce to the extreme. We are constantly trying to minimize our carbon footprint as much as possible, whether it's the small or big things we do. In fact, it's one of the reasons why we have been developing some fun new products, which can be found on our Etsy page right now! Our new small products (which are in the testing phase right now) are all items that we are working on to utilize our scrap leather. We would hate to have any of it go to waste... in fact, we have saved every bit of scrap leather for 5 nearly years now!

We also think about this a lot when we design our new collection. If there's one less die cut to have made, the better. So, if you look closely at our puffer fish fin, the bird wing the rocket flame and the apple leaf, you might notice that we are using the exact same piece (in different colors of course), which saves having extra die cuts made!

Last year on Earth Day we had lots of fun with an Earth Day contest through our facebook fan page and our Blog. This year we have come up with another fun contest! Since Earth Day is less than 1 week away, we will gather entries until Earth Day, April 22nd, at which time we will choose 2 lucky winners! This time we have designed a one of a kind / custom green tree Earth Day inspired design. All you have to do is check out our current collection of bibs and tell us which part of one of our current designs we re-used to create the green part of the tree! Look closely, it might not be an obvious choice at first...!

When we heard the news that the Canadian Government would match any contributions donated to the Humanitarian Coalition on January 18th for Haiti, we decided to donate $10 from every online order. We also felt that one day was just not enough, so we have decided now to extend it through January 19th as well, to hopefully add a fair bit to our contribution. So for January 18th and 19th we will donate $10 from each online order placed. Please help by either donating directly or placing an order today.

UPDATE: We were able to raise $260 to donate to Haiti during the 2 days! We were so thankful to see so many people interested in helping by buying bibs. We definitely saw a spike in sales during the 2 days, and we're sure it's because so many people want to find a way to help. Every little bit helps and we are so thrilled to have donated our little bit. :)
