:: CONTEST announcement! Mally Bibs + Stonz Wear Booties ::
We are thankful to be living in the part of the world that we do. North America has some of the nicest people, the most beautiful scenery, the foundation for education, business growth and so much more! As a Canadian, I always look forward to Canada Day, and I love teaching my kids the importance of the day and why we celebrate. As a close neighbor to our friends in the United States (our town, Abbotsford, where we manufacture Mally Bibs borders the USA), I always enjoy the patriotism that we see as we visit - flags on almost every home, and the July 4th celebrations, I admit, are even better than the July 1st celebrations in Canada. A notable mention as well, is we love Canada and United States because it's where most of our customers, fans and friends are from! About 98% of our orders come from Canada and United States, and we want to thank you with a fun little contest!
We've partnered with our friends at Stonz Wear - a company that is very similar to ours. They manufacture baby booties that are very practical and great for winter, but also camping in the summer nights. They love Canada and United States just as much as we do and like ours their product is also made in Canada. They also believe that style, comfort, and quality are all top priorities when it comes to making a children's products, as do we!

Well, usually on Canada Day
Well, usually on Canada Day we attend the local festivities and cap it off with a pretty great fire works display, but this year we will be on the road to a surprise trip to Disneyland for my son's 4th birthday. So we plan to catch a july 4th fire works show so we don't miss it entirely. Happy Canada Day!!!!
This Canada Day we will
This Canada Day we will celebrate with a family breakfast of pancakes topped with local strawberries and homemade whipped cream (very convenient that the toppings are red and white :)). We'll probably go down to the parade with the kiddies decked out in their red and whites. Weather permitting we'd like to go out to Cultus Lake and visit Grandma and Grandpa and have a family bbq, enjoying all the beauty that is Beautiful British Columbia!
Canada day is definitly a time spend time with family and reflect on how incredibly fortunate we are to live in such great country. Kinda makes me want to break out in song ... 'Oh Canada, our true north strong and free ...' :)
And, if we're really, really lucky we'll be there with our Stonz booties and Mally bib on! *wink, wink*
Canada Day is very big deal
Canada Day is very big deal around our home. Every year since our oldest child was born ...that's almost 10 years ago now ... we have celebrated the importance of Canada day as a family. We are very proud to live in such a beautiful country and appreciate our wonderful, blessed life here. We go down to our local Canada Day parade, always decked out in Red and white T shirts and maple leaf tattoos and have shared a BBQ with good friends.... But what is an absolute requirement, no matter what, is to take in a Fireworks celebration for Canada Day. It is a long standing requirement for our family to make our day complete and really starts our summer with a BANG! Our children are usually bundled up in a blanket in their jamas, some of them pulled out of bed. We bring along a yummy treat and close the day down together under the fire works. This year with a 9 month old baby again .... we will for sure need to pick up the Canada Mally bib for our new babe to enjoy her special treat and to celebrate too! Happy Canada EH!
We look forward to Canada
We look forward to Canada Day all year round. We attend the local parade, seated in the same spot every year with an incredible group of friends, then head home for a quick lunch, after which we attend a children's festival and then a barbeque with friends and family. It's a great way to celebrate the end of a school year and the start of summer.

A day of remembrance Canada
A day of remembrance
Canada Day is very important in our family. My twin nephews were born July 1st at 26 weeks along. We lost the first 3 days later and the second exactly one week later. Every canada day we purchase a toy appropriate for the age the boys would have been and donate the toys. Then we buy flowers in red and white and we buy two canadian flags. We go the visit the boys at their grave and lay their flowers out. Everyone shares a quiet minute and we pray for our little angels who were taken from us shortly after we met them. As we have children we share the experience with them of their special cousins/brothers and that they are watching over them. Canada day, for us, is certainly a day we remember just how lucky we are to be in this wonderful country and we are thankful for the freedom we have.
We are a very prominent military family.. my sister and brother in law are military, i married a soldier, my father, my grandfather, my uncles... the list goes on. We know all too well how good we have it here and as military wives we know what it is to sacrifice being away from our men for the better of our country. My husband was in afghanistan last year. He was sent 4 weeks before the birth of our first baby. Our little girl is now 9 months old and she too will grow up loving and being thankful for what her daddy does.

Our family loves to
Our family loves to celebrate Canada Day! My husband, daughter and I all have Canada Day t-shirts we wear and we head to the Edmonton Valley Zoo for a picnic. Ella (2 yrs old) loves to see all the animals and waves her little Canada flag at all of them! We will be spening the afternoon at the zoo and then heading home for a BBQ and night around the fire. Because Ella is too little to stay up we will put her to bed and have grandma & papa watch her so hubby and I can go check out the fireworks in St Albert. My husband is ex-military so we are a VERY proud Canadian Family and are thankful to live in such a great country!! :)
We will be doing a lot of
We will be doing a lot of things this Canada Day. We will be on our first camping trip of the year. My husband, two boys (Johnathan and Dawson), little girl (Abigail) and myself will be sitting around the fire in the evening, relaxing from a busy day. That day we will have had friends over for lunch before visiting the cities lake and participating in all the children's activities. My kidlets will be dressed in their red and white, like usual. That evening around the fire will be spend with their paternal Grandparents. Grandpa will likely tell the boys all about what Canada Day means to him as a retired military man.
I just wanted to say that I love Mally Bibs and have been a fan for quite a few years now!
We'll be camping like great
We'll be camping like great Canadians. We're camping locally though so we go into town and be a part of the cities festivities-face painting, parade, music, giant cake-the whole thing!
We are lucky enough to live
We are lucky enough to live in the Nation's Capital (Ottawa!) so we like to spend Canada Day celebrating on the Hill. Breakfast with the grandparents and then a trip to see the RCMP musical ride have become part of the tradition of the day and we love updating our family picture (and mark how much the kids have grown) with a pic with parliament hill in the background (in our Canadian gear and maple leaf tatoos). And one of the other fun traditions of the day is sending my cousin's kids who live in California their annual Canada Day tees for them to wear proudly on Canada Day! I am a proud Canadian and my family loves to show its Canadian pride! Go Canada!!
Hmm... can I enter for my
Hmm... can I enter for my friend? She's a big fan of my kid's mally bibs and is the most patriotic person I know. Her husband is an electrical engineer for the army and they try to only buy american made products. Every year she goes out an buys a special red white and blue outfit for each of her kids, they get glow necklaces and bracelets, have a picnic with the family and then go to two fireworks displays! I have never been to any! Well she's quite upset that this year fourth of july falls on friday night and being sabbath observers she will not be able to partake in any of the festivities. An american flag bib and matching stonz boots are sure to brighten her up though!

My husband is a member of the United States Air Force and will be deploying to Afghanistan very soon. He leaves for training on Monday (June 15) and will be going through that until the last week of June. His plane for Afghanistan leaves on July 5th. So, on the Fourth of July, my 8-month-old daughter and I will be driving hours on end to see Daddy one last time before he leaves for six months. He is our hero, and I'm glad to spend one last holiday with him since he is going to miss his birthday (July), my daughter's first birthday (October), Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Year's.

Since I have to work on Canada Day, our celebration is delayed until the following week and my husband and I are planning to take our darling daughter to Niagara Falls - one of our country's great wonders. Our plan is that our kids get to see all of Canada's wonderful landmarks so they can appreciate the beauty here at home.
